Nassau Renaissance Singers to perform this weekend
The Nassau Renaissance Singers, under the direction of Audrey Dean-Wright, a gifted musical director, pianist, and composer, return to performing at the Government House Ballroom in Nassau this month.
Under the distinguished patronage of their Excellencies the Governor General Sir Arthur and Lady Foulkes, the choir will present”A Concert for Christmas”on Saturday, December 11 and Sunday, December 12 at 8:00 p.m. At the conclusion of the performance, the singers will join the audience for the traditional after concert wine and chat.
Over the years the Renaissance Singers have ushered in the traditional annual Christmas festivities for many in The Bahamas. This year’s concert promises to be no different. Based on the program selections, it will be a most memorable concert. The program includes classical and traditional Christmas music as well as music from around the region and in the style for which former choir director, E. Clement Bethel, was noted.
The choir has a wonderful mix of veteran and new members, and this year will feature some of the young artists of The Bahamas as special guests. Guest artists include Nikita Wells on the 11th, Dicey Doh Boys on the 11th and 12th and Osano Neeley on the 12th. This year the choir is grateful to have well known Raymond Antionio accompany them on the piano.
Tickets for the Nassau Renaissance Singers concert may be purchased from Logos Bookstore at the Harbour Bay Shopping Plaza, East Bay Street or from choir members.
Proceeds from the concert to benefit Nassau Renaissance Singers Scholarship Fund.
