HISTORIC BAHAMAS: Historian Dr Gail Saunders recently presented her latest book,”Historic Bahamas”, toThe Nassau Guardian. The short essays included in the book were first published inThe Nassau Guardianbetween February 2005 and June 2007. Saunders, a pioneer Bahamian archivist and former Director of The Bahamas Archives, has authored and co-authored a number of books.”Historic Bahamas”covers a variety of subjects including slavery, liberated Africans, industries, blockade running, prohibition, the 1942 Riot in Nassau, the 1956 Anti-discrimination Resolution and women in Bahamian society, among other topics.”Historic Bahamas”is now on sale at local bookstores.
