Two men facing handgun, ammunition, drug-related charges

Police have charged two men with illegal possession of handguns, ammunition and marijuana. Officers from the Northeastern Division allegedly found a .357 revolver and a .25 semi-automatic pistol with seven bullets, as well as marijuana when they searched a home on Peach Street, Culmersville, on December 20.

Mark Pierre, 24, of Peach Street, said the guns, bullets and drugs belonged to him during an arraignment before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez yesterday. His co-accused Roland Dean, 28, of Rosedale Street, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Magistrate Gomez deferred Pierre’s sentencing until December 28. He will also hold a bail hearing for Dean on that date.

Both men have been remanded into custody.
