An assault complaint has been lodged at the Central Police Station by the girlfriend of lawyer Sean Moree, police confirmed yesterday.
According to Superintendent Wayne Miller, Moree’s girlfriend made the complaint that arose from a domestic matter last week.
However, Miller could not say whether police had questioned Moree, the son of Brian Moree, QC, yet. Moree is an associate in the litigation department of McKinney, Bancroft and Hughes.
The Guardian understands the woman was treated at hospital for a head wound as a result of the alleged assault.
Miller was unable to give the status of the investigation, saying only,”We received an assault complaint, which is being investigated.”
Miller was also unable to confirm reports that both parties came to the station with thir lawyers yesterday.
