Gun possession guilty plea
One of the men police arrested for gun possessionpleaded guilty when he appeared before a magistrate yesterday.
Police arrested Curtis Johnson, 20, of Lewis Street and Kevin Woodside, 31, of Wilson Street, at Hay Street after they allegedly found the men with a .40 caliber pistol and 19 bullets for the firearm on December 28.
Johnson pleaded guilty at his arraignment before Deputy Chief Magistrate Carolita Bethell. Woodside entered a not guilty plea.
Bethell sentenced Johnson to two years in prison. Prosecutor Ercell Dorsett withdrew the case against Woodside.
Woodside is currently on bail for a 10-pound marijuana discovery at a Wilson Street home inFebruary 2008.
