NAD recognizes top employees
Two Nassau Airport Development Company(NAD)employees were given awards during the company’s end of year event held at the British Colonial Hilton last month.
Financial Controller Paula Rigby was named Manager of the Year and Executive Assistant Bekenya Smith won the Employee of the Year award. President and CEO of NAD Stuart Steeves said both women were deserving of their accolades.
“We are so proud of these ladies who epitomize the best of service to their employers and their colleagues,”Steeves said.”NAD is delighted to recognize them both in some meaningful ways for their outstanding achievements.”
Rigby has been working with NAD for three years and is responsible for the accounts department, supervising a staff of seven persons. She has an outstanding record of fiscal management, and enjoys the opportunity to teach others the principles of good accounting. She expressed surprise and delight at being chosen for this recognition. Rigby’s high professionalism level is just one of the many comments noted by her nominators.
Smith, who has been with the company for four years having transitioned from the Airport Authority, is executive assistant to NAD’s VP of operations, and declared herself”overjoyed by the expression of love from my colleagues in selecting me for this recognition.”She is widely known as the person who never says”can’t”, and is happy to assist anyone at anytime.
With NAD placing emphasis on quality customer service for all users of the
airport, the company has also recognized that satisfied employees deliver quality customer service.
Rachel Rolle, NAD’s Manager of People, and the recipient of the BHRDA’s(Bahamas Human Resources Development Association)2010 HR Manager of the year award, said the rewards that each of the winners will receive include luggage by Land and Kipling, round trip airline tickets for two and a digital camcorder, among other prizes.
