Second man charged with attempted murder of visitor
Police have charged a second man with the attempted murder of Canadian visitor Mitch Nimi.
Patrickedo Rose, 20, of Pine Barren Road, appeared before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez yesterday on a charge of attempted murder and robbery.
A 17-year-old Springfield Road resident, whom police allege is Rose’s accomplice, was arraigned on the same charges last week.
Nimi was stabbed several times in the chest, back and abdomen early Christmas morning outside Club Luna on West Bay Street.
Police allege that the men attempted to murder Nimi on December 25 and robbed Montez Armbrister of a gold chain worth$1,000.
Both men have been denied bail.
Dudley Moree also appeared in the same court. Moree, 24, of Alexander Boulevard, is charged with the October 7 armed robbery of Fred Paul. Prosecutors allege that Moree robbed Paul of a 2001 Honda Accord and gold neck chain while armed with a gun.
Moree was not required to enter a plea to the charge.
Moree is on bail for the murder of Dorneil Ferguson and the attempted murder of his wife, Yuzanne. He was tried for murder in 2009, but a jury could not reach a verdict.
The couple were shot as they slept in the bedroom of their Family Street apartment, off Soldier Road on the morning of June 26, 2008.
