Fun times at COGIC 4th Annual Sunday School Rally
The Bahamas Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ recently held its Fourth Annual Sunday School Rally. The event was held under the theme:”Fighting to hold the standard which was first passed on to the Saints.”The theme comes from Jude 1:1-3.
Sunday School superintendent, international evangelist and co-pastor, Ellen M. Williams, directed the event.
This electrifying week of activities took place from Wednesday, February 2 to Sunday, February 6, 2011, and included a Spelling Bee, a Speech Contest, a Service of Appreciation and a Mini Fair.
Over 27 contestants ranging from grades 1 12 participated in the Spelling Bee. The Speech Contest winners included first place, DeAngelo Marshall(Pentecostal Temple COGIC); second place, Marcos Armbrister(Believers COGIC)and third place, Shantel Dean(Pentecostal Temple COGIC).
The Service of Appreciation was held onFriday evening and the Mini Fair was held on Saturday from 1 4 p.m., where delicious food was sold and games such as marbles, jump rope, and card games such as backgammon were played.
The activities culminated with a Mr. and Miss COGIC Contest being held on Sunday evening at 3 p.m. The winners of that competition were Miss Fenderia Brown from Believers Worship Centre, COGIC and Mr. Wellington Maycock from Manifestation Power COGIC.
These events are held annually and we look forward to another exciting time next year in 2012.
