Truckers 60, All-Stars 49
The Johnson’s Lady Truckers got a much needed win as the New Providence Women’s Basketball Association(NPWBA)continued with its regular season games on Tuesday night at the D.W. Davis Gym. They blasted the Sentinel All-Stars, 60-49, behind a balanced scoring attack. Stacy Horton scored 13 points and pulled down 13 boards, Shantelle Rolle added 13 points, Janice Williams contributed a dozen and had a whopping 18 rebounds, and Darrenique Young made it four players in double figures with 10. Firneathra Brown added nine points, 10 steals and six assists for the Lady Truckers. The Sentinel All-Stars were led by Brittany Harrison who had a monster game with 18 points and 19 rebounds. Brittany Greenslade added 11 points, and Lashan Green contributed eight.
Angels 79, Cyber Queens 42
The Bommer George Angels continued their march toward the NPWBA playoffs with a convincing win over the Electro Telecom Cyber Queens on Tuesday night. Ashley Moss, Felicia Cartwright and Kaylicia Laing all scored 14 points to lead the Angels in scoring. Suzette McKenzie added 13 points and six rebounds, and Alberta Russell contributed eight points and eight boards. Moss had a game-high 16 rebounds for the Angels. Mercglino St. Jean led the way with 16 points for the Cyber Queens. Christine Sinclair scored 11, and Natasha Whymms added seven.
