Kidnapping case discontinued

The Office of the Attorney General on Thursday discontinued a kidnapping case that has been in the system for almost four years.

Rufus Durham was charged with the April 23, 2007 kidnapping of Lakeisha McKenzie and having a shotgun to put her in fear.

Anthony Delaney presented anolle prosequiin the cases when Durham appeared before Justice Vera Watkins for the start of his trial. Justice Watkins told Durham that the attorney general’s office could bring the case back if it so desired. Ramona Farquharson represented Durham.
