Arrest warrant issued for murder accused
Senior Supreme Court Justice Jon Isaacs yesterday issued an arrest warrant for murder accused Livingston Taylor after he did not appear for the start of his trial.
Taylor, 44, is accused of the October 7, 2007 murder of Sylvia Agnes Cates in Rock Sound, Eleuthera.
The Crown prosecutor and Taylor’s lawyer, Jerone Roberts, were present at the Supreme Court. However, Taylor, who is on bail, was not.
Roberts told the court he did not know why Taylor was not at court.
Prosecutors allege Taylor broke into Cates’home, robbed her of her 2000 Isuzu Rodeo at knife-point and killed her.
Cates’bruised and stabbed body was found on her bedroom floor in Rock Sound after her SUV was found overturned in bushes about 11 miles from the home.
The trial could begin today if Taylor is found.
