Drug accused arrested again on drug charges
Two men with a pending drug case were among nine men arrested in connection with the seizure of 852 pounds of marijuana in Inagua this week.
Dion”Buju”Minnis and David Colebrooke were supposed to appear before Deputy Chief Magistrate Carolita Bethell yesterday for the start of their trial for alleged possession of$4 million worth of marijuana.
Their co-defendants Selva Hudson and Stephen Stubbs were present at court.
Prosecutor Vernal Collie told the court that the men were arrested in Inagua on new charges.
According to police, a multi-agency task force of officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration(DEA)and the U.S. Coast Guard boarded two vessels on Wednesday evening and found the drugs. Police said the drugs have a street value of$852,000.
The men were brought to New Providence for questioning.
