90th Annual COGOP Convention to take place March 13-20

It’s that time of year again and the Church of God of Prophecy(COGOP)is putting on another memorable convention to touch the hearts and souls of the spirit-hungry Christian.

Under the theme”Led by His Spirit”the 90th Annual Convention will be held from Sunday, March 13 to Sunday, March 20.

This convention will be one filled with action, energy and moments to savor so you definitely will not want to miss this historic occasion. According to Bishop Franklin M. Ferguson, superintendent of operations for COGOP, the speakers for this event will be dynamic and powerful orators. They will include international speakers like Bishop David Bryan-Global from Cleveland, Tennessee; Bishop Robert Davis of Florida; Bishop Clarence N. Williams of the Turks and Caicos Islands and many others.

Local speakers will be various ministers with COGOP. Special guest Speaker, Police Commissioner Ellison Greenslade, will speak about the nation’s crime problems.

Bishop Elgarnet Rahming, National Overseer of COGOP, invites all persons, whether they are members of the denomination or not, to attend the convention so that they can be touched and moved by the spirit.

“The convention will bring together thousands of delegates from across The Bahamas, as well as from the Caribbean, Canada, the Continental USA and the United Kingdom, for a grand and glorious time of fellowship, praise and worship, teaching, preaching, prophetic impartation, information sharing, business transacting and vision casting,”he said.

“We prayerfully expect that the presence and power of God will be manifested among us to bring about the experiences of salvation, spiritual cleansing, restoration, healing, deliverance and spiritual victory in our lives, and in our nation and beyond,”the bishop added.

Major highlights of this annual spiritual extravaganza will be the children’s ministries program that will kick off the convention. Deanne Johnson, the media broadcast official, said that there will be something for everyone. The children will commandeer the service on the first Sunday of the convention. Their excellence in song, dance and worship will blow you away one more time this year.

The youth ministries will also show their energy on Saturday, March 19 when they fill the church in colorful celebration of their own church homes. They will also shine when they take to the streets in their annual”Night March”from the East Street Tabernacle to the Englerston church.

The”Midnight Jamboree”, a favorite part of the convention, will also kick off later in the evening. Many local performers will take the stage.

The Women’s Ministry is also planning a special surprise that will inspire you. The Fine Arts ministry in COGOP will also be putting on a special service on Thursday night. Its production,”Breathe On Us Holy Spirit”, will be featured for the first time.

These are only some of the many surprises and spiritual awakenings that you will encounter at this year’s convention. So if you have never been before, this is truly the year to make an appearance. You will not regret it and are guaranteed to leave with some kind of spiritual uplifting.
