Jury discharged in armed robbery case

A jury could not reach a verdict in an armed robbery case yesterday.

Justice Roy Jones discharged the jurors after they returned a 5-4 guilty verdict against Camario Miller.

Two thirds of the panel needed to be in agreement for the verdict to be valid.

Miller is accused of robbing Melanie Scavella of cash and$5 and$10 phone cards at gunpoint on April 28, 2009 during the hold-up of T&S Convenience Store on Charles Saunders Highway.

He is also accused of robbing Sherry Adderley of an unknown amount of money.
