Man convicted of prison officer’s murder
A Supreme Court jury yesterday unanimously convicted Durad Munroe of the November 2009 murder of prison officer Clifford Wellington Godet Jr.
Godet, 27, of Seven Hills Drive, was shot in the head during an altercation at a gated apartment complex.
Prosecutor Eucal Bonaby will inform the court on July 14 whether the Crown will seek the death penalty. Munroe, who did not have bail, was further remanded to prison.
Bonaby was assisted by Vanda Mackey-Williams. Roger Gomez Jr was the defense lawyer.
Justice Bernard Turner presided.
