Police probe launched after woman’s death

Police are trying to determine if the death of a 30-year-old Foxdale woman could have been caused by injuries she received days before when she was allegedly assaulted by a young man.

The woman, who has been identified as Patrice Tanya Green, was found dead in her home yesterday, police said. Only days before she had been hospitalized following the alleged assault by the young man, according to police.

Head of the homicide branch, Assistant Superintendent B.K. Bonamy Jr. said the woman had reportedly been complaining of pains while at home sometime yesterday.

Bonamy said an ambulance was dispatched to Green’s house, however, Emergency Medical Services personnel found her dead when they arrived.

He added Green had some bruises on her body and explained that investigators were not certain that they were linked to her death.

He said an autopsy will have to be conducted before her cause of death can be determined and before police can rule the death a homicide or a sudden death.
