Break-in at Scotiabank Marsh Harbour branch

Scotiabank yesterday reported a break-in at its Marsh Harbour branch in Abaco.

The bank reported that the incident occurred between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Bank management confirmed that there were no injuries sustained by anyone.

“Due to the nature of our business, a robbery is always a possibility,” Scotiabank said in a statement.

“But we assure the public of our commitment to security and to the safety of our customers and employees. We are working with the Royal Bahamas Police Force in their investigation of this matter and would not like to say anything further which may compromise their work.”

Bank operations at the Marsh Harbour branch were suspended yesterday and normal banking operations are expected to resume today, officials said.

Police confirmed that no money was stolen from the bank.
