Excitement builds for St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Bazaar

Committee members of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral are putting the final plans together as they ‘gear up’ for their major fundraiser, the Annual Bazaar, Steak Out & Raffle.

This popular event will be held this Saturday, November 12 from noon until.  Part proceeds will go towards renovations at St. Benedict’s Hall.

“This promises to be another exciting bazaar,” said Debra Wood, secretary and public relations officer.  “This year we have added new attractions such as the conch-crackin’ competition, the onion peeling contest and the pineapple-eating contest.”

Father Glen Nixon, rector, invites the entire community to join the parishioners for an evening of good food, fellowship and fun, in a safe environment.  “Something will be there for persons of all ages,” added Rose Ferguson, co-chairperson.  “Apart from the usual succulent steak and chicken dinners, other attractions include West End conch salad, fried fish and panny cake, plants and bingo.  Souse will be served from 8 a.m.”

There will be a dance for the ‘young and young at heart’ and of course at the end of the evening, the drawing of attractive raffle prizes and the grand prize, a 2011 Toyota Corolla.  For more information call 356-3008-9.
