Five weekend arrests in connection with drug possession
Police arrested five people over the weekend in connection with drug possession.
The first incident occurred around 10 a.m. on Friday when two men, ages 31 and 30, were arrested at Brougham Street off Market Street.
Police said the men were found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana.
A 27-year-old female of Sixth Street off Coconut Grove spent the night in police custody after officers discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana and stolen property inside her residence.
Police reports indicate that shortly after 6 a.m. on Saturday officers executed a search warrant on the residence and discovered electronic items, drugs and cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of drugs.
A 27-year-old male was able to evade police.
Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) arrested two men after discovering a large quantity of suspected marijuana inside their residence.
The men, ages 26 and 19, were arrested around 4:10 p.m. on Saturday after DEU officers executed a search warrant on the residence at Gardens Hills.
Active police investigations continue into all of these matters.
