Bahamian students put culture on display in Minnesota
With an enrollment of more than 240 international students from 28 countries, the College of Saint Benedict & Saint John’s University (CSB/SJU) in Minnesota stages an annual “Festival of Cultures” which allows students to celebrate who they are and where they’re from, through performances, cultural booths and food sampling.
At their most recent festival, the Bahamian population at the school showed up to represent The Bahamas, and they represented well, according to sophomore, Denneisha Dean. A dance group performed to the Baha Men song Junkanoo. “Festivals of Cultures” is put on by the International Student Program Office of CSB/SJU.
