Introduction to MMA UFC clinic this weekend
A series of fundraising activities for the Bahamas Judo Federation (BJF), beginning with an introduction mixed martial arts (MMA) Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) clinic, will be held this weekend at All Star Family Judo Center on Joe Farrington Road. The event will be held Friday night, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
MMA through the UFC is considered one of the fastest growing sports in the world. The clinic is designed to teach the rules, techniques and strategies of the sport. It will be taught by Sensei D’Arcy Rahming – a trainer of MMA U.S. Army champion Daniel Wagner.
“The idea behind the clinic is for persons to get a fun introduction to the sport and some safe hand-on experience,” said Rahming. Rahming was involved in MMA from the sport’s inception and has had the honor of training and sparring with Rickson Gracie back in the early 1990s before the UFC popularized the sport.
Members of the public are invited to participate.
