On the death of Sir Clifford Darling

Dear Editor,

Our nation is forever blessed to have birthed a true nationalist like Sir Clifford Darling.

We, as leaders, could learn so much from his service and sacrifice, and should honor him by trying to mirror his great legacy.  Bahamians everywhere are eternally grateful to reap the fruits of his labor; I know that I’m one of them.

Our hearts are saddened by his passing and we mourn with his widow Lady Darling and his entire family.  Sir Clifford has certainly made his mark on us, who knew him dearly, and the next generation will read about him in history books for years to come.

On behalf of my family and the Democratic National Alliance, I pray sincerely that our nation births more leaders like Sir Clifford Darling with the same valor, patriotic spirit and devotion.  May his soul rest soundly with the Father.
