Teenagers charged with murder, armed robbery
Two teenagers accused of killing a man and robbing two others on a construction site last week have been denied bail.
Toriano Cummings, 18, of Pyfrom Road, and Keith Barr, 18, of Kemp Road, appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt on murder and armed robbery charges.
A 17-year-old, of Kemp Road, accused of assisting the men after they allegedly committed the crimes, is charged with accessory after the fact.
Prosecutors allege that the men are responsible for the fatal shooting of Luines Naissance at Shirley Street and Fowler Street on December 10.
They are also accused of the armed robberies of Canes Fleurescar and Sintamat Joseph.
The men were not required to enter pleas to the charges and have been remanded to prison. They return to court on February 22 when it is expected that the case will be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court for trial.
The juvenile also returns to court on the same date and has been refused bail.
Attorney Nathan Smith who represents Barr and the juvenile told the court that Barr was the victim of police brutality and had been forced to sign statements.
