Miss Florida denies drug charge

A young woman who became an Internet sensation after making a viral video of her trip to Florida was among three people charged today with drug possession with intent to supply.

Handerea Rolle, 21, of Ragged Island Street, who has been dubbed ‘Miss Florida’, and Kenneth Moncur, 41, of Smith’s Lane, denied the charge at their arraignment before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain. The third defendant, Illano Noel, of Market Street, pleaded guilty regarding yesterday’s seizure of 1 ¾ pounds of marijuana and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Rolle and Moncur were denied bail and remanded to prison.  They return to court for trial on February 27.

Noel is Rolle’s boyfriend and father of her four-year-old daughter.
