Neymour disappointed by rumors surrounding his health
Former Minister of State for the Environment Phenton Neymour said yesterday he is disappointed by rumors surrounding his health.
Neymour was diagnosed with colon cancer on February 10, 2014 and while he has beaten cancer, he said he is dealing with some other issues.
Neymour also sent a voice note to the people of Exuma, the constituency he had sought to represent. In it, he expressed disappointment that recent photos of him have been circulated and some “cruel” and “unchristian” statements were made.
“I am truly disappointed that many people who know me very well, could just jump on a phone and call me and find out my health, but unfortunately [some] have chosen to circulate an untrue rumor that has caused much pain to my family,” he said.
“I apologize for sounding harsh in this regard, but at this time, a lot of pain is being inflicted on my family.
“I ask that people cease from spreading rumors. I know who started it, I know who is involved. Please, if not for me, for my family, and leave it alone.”
Neymour said he was lying on the beach yesterday watching ‘Law and Order’ on his cell phone.
It was a reference to a statement he made during the Bahamas Telecommunications privatization debate that one day Bahamians would be able to lie on the beach and watch ‘Law and Order’.
