Police report string of robberies
Police are investigating a series of robberies that occurred over the weekend.
The first took place shortly after 3 p.m. on Saturday when a woman on a beach at Rainbow Bay, Eleuthera, was approached by two men, one armed with a knife, who robbed her of cash before running away.
Shortly before 11 p.m., a man was outside a wash house on Joe Farrington Road, New Providence, when three men, one armed with a gun, robbed him of cell phones and sped away in his silver Toyota Passo.
Shortly after 11 p.m., three armed men entered the office of a motel on St. Albans Drive, held an employee at bay and robbed the establishment of an unknown amount of cash before fleeing, police said.
The fourth robbery occurred outside a wash house on Carmichael Road, shortly after 4 a.m. on Sunday.
Police said a man selling snacks was approached by two men, one armed with a gun, who robbed him of cash before speeding away in a silver vehicle.
Police did not say if any of the incidents are connected.
