Aliv touts successful network buildout, market share
Telecommunications company Aliv celebrated its two-year anniversary Monday evening after completing its network buildout throughout The Bahamas and securing 30 percent of the mobile market, according to Chief Aliv Officer Damian Blackburn.
He said Aliv’s corporate team, which has only operated for 15 months of the two years the company has been in operation, has been operating exceptionally.
“We have a great team,” he said. “Most of them had never been in mobile before. We’re very happy with our progress in the market. Lots and lots of big companies are trusting us with their service.”
Blackburn said the company continues to improve its service to corporate clients.
He touted the stability of the platform that its corporate clients use to manage their accounts, and the platform’s many features.
“It’s a fantastic achievement in two years,” he said.
Aliv is now on every major island in The Bahamas, having installed its equipment across the length and breadth of the country.
Aliv also launched a virtual reality application yesterday that allows users to take a virtual tour of the city using an encoded paper map. The company released a video of the application at its anniversary party Monday night to rave reviews.
