As many as 100 Haitian migrants being sought on Inagua
Officials on Inagua are searching for as many as 100 Haitian migrants who are suspected of illegally entering the country.
According to a statement from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, six Haitian migrants were caught on the northern shore of Inagua on Monday.
Those migrants were spotted by the U.S. Coast Guard.
An additional eight migrants were caught later that day in bushes during a joint search by locals and law enforcement.
The 14 migrants were transported to New Providence after questioning.
Search teams were still in the bushes of Inagua searching for the remaining migrants yesterday.
Officials estimate that 120 may have landed.
