Free dental, eye and medical care offered
Free dental, eye and medical care will be offered for the next two days by FreeD.O.M. Clinic USA through the Health Ministries Department of the South Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists
Eye care will include an exam and glasses if needed; an oral exam, x-ray, cleaning, extractions, filling and oral hygiene education will be offered in the dental portion; with a physical exam, blood pressure check, blood sugar screening, non-narcotic medications, hypertension and diabetes counseling, pediatric, geriatric and general consultations, chronic disease prevention counseling, preventive and lifestyle modification counseling as it pertains to nutrition, diet, beverage consumption and other health principles will be extended on the medical side.
The free clinic takes place through August 2 at Bahamas Academy, Marshall Road beginning at 6 a.m. daily until – on a first come, first serve basis.
Persons wanting to take advantage of the free checks are asked not to smoke on the day of their treatment. And if they have diabetes or high blood pressure, to take their medication. The clinic will be conducted by healthcare professionals from United Hands Inc., a non-profit organization that has been in existence since April 1995 that provide free medical services to communities in the United States and around the world.
United Hands consists of volunteer health professionals including medical doctors, dentists and optometrists.
