New BPL board appointed
Bahamas Power and Light (BPL) has a new board, with Dr. Donavan Moxey as the chairman, Minister of Public Works Desmond Bannister confirmed today.
Stephen Holowesko is the deputy chairman.
The other members of the board include: James Moss, Debra Wood, Ferron Bethel and Viana Gardiner.
The appointments come three days after the government asked the old board members to hand in their resignations.
In a short statement, Bannister said the board appointments were made in accordance with the provisions of section eight of the Electricity Act.
In a previous statement, Bannister said the former BPL board members locked horns on almost every critical issue. However, he declined to provide specifics on what those conflicts were.
