David Livingstone JohnsonDeath Notice | Butlers Funeral Homes
David Livingstone Johnson, age 67 years, of San Souci, Nassau, The Bahamas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 14, 2018.
The family of David Livingstone Johnson wishes to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the community for their heartfelt prayers, and words of comfort spoken during our loss.
David dedicated his life to the development of Tourism within the Bahamas. In doing this he has touched the lives of many within the Bahamian Community as he had profound love for his country, but a special love for Freeport, Grand Bahama.
His love for Grand Bahama Island was founded in the early stages of his career, while he was the Area Manager in Boston. David worked with Mr. Teddy Bernard bringing junkets to the Princess Hotel.
David also worked with Mr. Stephen Hunter Sr. putting “heads in beds.” This professional relationship was established that further led him to work with Mr. Stephen Hunter Jr. in opening the Memories Hotel in Grand Bahama; he tirelessly fought for the success of Grand Bahama.
We extended our sincere thanks to the Grand Bahama Island Tourism Board who desired to display their appreciation and gratitude for his work in Grand Bahama in a private memorial service.
David worked effortlessly behind the scenes, and dedicated countless hours to aiding the Tourism Industry becoming one of the top industries within the Bahamas.
It was David’s wish not to hold a funeral service or a memorial service despite being a public figure; he was a very private gentleman. In his death it is our desire to uphold and respect his wishes.
We are deeply saddened, and he will be remembered in our hearts forever his loving wife: Sabrina Johnson; his sons: Shane and David Johnson and his niece: Tamica Pinder.
May his soul rest in peace.
