Don’t be afraid to fail

There are a whole lot of people spread throughout this great big world of ours who could and indeed should be a lot more successful. However, they have a very big problem which is holding them back in life and that is the fear of failure. But my friend, failing every now and then is part of this thing called life, as eminent spiritual leader and writer Ernest Holmes put it -yes it is. Some of the greatest people in the world failed many times before they eventually started to become successful – people like Edison who it is said failed 10,000 times in his effort to perfect the electric light bulb.

I’ll be honest with you my valued readers, I myself have failed many times in my life, but it has never stopped me from continuing in my quest to eventually be successful. My friend you must learn to do the same. As Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team and one of the panelists on the popular T.V. show “Shark Tank” put it, “you’ve got to learn to crawl before you fall” – oh how right he is.

I honestly believe that low self-esteem and bad self-image is what keeps a whole lot of people back from being successful. Many people are afraid of failing for fear of what people would think of them. Despite this my friend, we need to fully understand, that so often in life we learn more from our mistakes and our failures than we do from our successes. Through our failures we learn in a most meaningful way what does not work.

Of course, the secret is and really, it’s no secret at all – number one, not to be afraid of failing and to fail every now and then; and number two – to learn the mistake the failure was meant to teach us; and number three – vow not to continue making the same mistakes over and over again.

Yes, my friend, never be afraid to fail every now and then as it’s an integral part of the learning … the growing process of life. Please take today’s lesson to heart, which is don’t be afraid to fail as it’s all a part of life, a most important part I might add. So, when you fail, and you will, use the failure as an important learning experience, and then set out again to reach the top of the mountain and you’ll be successful. I guarantee it.
