Myles and Ruth Munroe Foundation to host back-to-school event this weekend
School bags filled with basic school supplies will be distributed by The Myles & Ruth Munroe Foundation (MRM) during its annual back-to-school event on Saturday to each child in attendance, while supplies last.
The annual event seeks to ensure that students returning to school are equipped with the basic tools needed to excel.
“Last year was our foundation’s first back-to-school event and we did it in the Bain Town community which was the community my father grew up in here in New Providence,” said Myles Munroe Jr. vice president of the MRM Foundation.
“This year I thought it would be fitting to host the event in the Carmichael Road community since this signifies how far he came and what he has accomplished in the country,” said Munroe Jr. “I’m always excited to be able to give back. We know how difficult it can be for some parents to get basic school supplies so we want to continue to do our part in helping our local communities. I always say our family has been blessed to be a blessing. I’ve always seen my parents go above and beyond to bless others – and as a foundation, and in their honor and legacy, we want to continue to do the same.”
Food and drink, along with music, face painting, bouncy castles all the things children love will be the order of the day for the event that will take place at Bahamas Faith Ministries grounds, Carmichael Road between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Anyone wanting to participate in the giveback by making a donation or volunteering, can contact the Myles & Ruth Munroe Foundation at 361-8605.
