The Bahamas Goombay Punch logo has become a recognizable Bahamian icon over the years, being embraced by a number of Junkanoo groups and fashion designers. As the official bottler of Bahamas Goombay Punch, the Caribbean Bottling Company (CBC) will celebrate over 40 years of producing the Bahamian beverage by hosting a fashion showcase at the 2018 International Cultural Wine & Food Festival (ICWFF).

The Bahamas Goombay Punch Fashion Showcase is intended to be a fun and engaging way to highlight local professional and amateur designers, who are invited to enter their Goombay Punch-inspired fashions for the chance to win a $500 cash prize. The fashion showcase will take place on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 4 p.m. on the ICWFF International Stage.

“Goombay Punch is a unique Bahamian beverage that many of us have grown up with, and that Goombay smile is instantly recognizable to most Bahamians,” noted Nikia Wells, CBC marketing manager. “We have seen many local designers who have incorporated the Bahamas Goombay Punch logo in a number of creative and beautiful designs, and we wanted to do something to celebrate their talent and that Goombay love.”

Fashion showcase entries can include original clothing, shoes, hats, handbags, jewelry or other fashion accessory designs, but each entry will need to feature the Bahamas Goombay logo in some way. One winner will be chosen during the fashion showcase, based on crowd reaction. The competition is aimed at helping the designer further his or her artistic expression. To be featured in the show, entrants can email their names, contact information, a brief description of themselves and their designs, the names of their models, a photo of the piece they would like to showcase and what Goombay Punch means to them, to nwells@cbcbahamas.com by September 30, 2018.
