Two charged on separate murder charges

A  former wanted suspect was yesterday charged with murder and attempted murder.

Rashad Reid, 26, of Pastel Gardens, appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt in relation to the June 30 murder of Kiria Musgrove, whose body was found discarded in bushes off Cowpen Road on July 1.

Reid is also charged with the June 30 attempted murder of Austin Pinder.

According to police reports, Musgrove and Pinder were in a parked car in Pastel Gardens when a gunman shot both of them. Pinder reportedly ran for help and the assailant fled in the vehicle with a wounded Musgrove.

Reid, who was represented by Avrom Thompson, was not required to enter pleas to the charges and denied bail.

He next returns to court on December 4.

Police also charged a suspect in a murder that occurred earlier this month.

Mark Kemp, 38, of Cox Street, is charged with the September 7 shooting death of Lamon Johnson and the attempted murder of Pedro Henfield at Fox Hill.

Kemp was not required to enter pleas to the charges and was denied bail. His matter was adjourned to December 4. Ian Cargill represented Kemp.
