Baha Mar partners with Travel + Leisure to host advisory board meeting
Baha Mar, the premier integrated resort destination in The Bahamas, partnered with leading U.S. travel brand Travel + Leisure to welcome the 2018 Travel Advisory Board meeting to The Bahamas. From October 2–5, the Travel Advisory Board (TAB), comprised of select owners and operators of the most prestigious and influential travel agencies in the U.S., experienced the best of The Bahamas at Baha Mar, from the beachside refinement of Rosewood to the natural beauty of Long Cay, the resort destination’s private island, and the vibrant energy of the Caribbean’s largest and most spectacular casino.
Baha Mar welcomed the group on Tuesday, October 2 with a dinner at Shuang Ba, the resort’s culinary destination for haute Chinese cuisine, followed by cocktails at Jazz Bar. On Wednesday, the board members played golf at Royal Blue Golf Course and enjoyed tennis at the Baha Mar Racquet Club, followed by a visit to Long Cay, Baha Mar’s private island. Travel + Leisure also introduced the first session of the TAB conference series, “Conversation with Graeme Davis, president, Baha Mar”.
Throughout the week, the group dined at Baha Mar signature restaurants, including Fi’lia, known for artisanal Italian classics from award-winning chef Michael Schwartz; The Commonwealth, offering flavors from six international regions and Costa, Rosewood’s open-air destination for coastal cuisine fused with Mexican flavors. Each day, TAB gathered for conference sessions to hear from various leaders in the tourism industry, including the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board and Dominican Republic Tourism.
“We are honored to welcome Travel + Leisure’s prestigious board of top travel agents and industry leaders to Baha Mar,” said Graeme Davis, president, Baha Mar. “Baha Mar is proud to be recognized by Travel + Leisure as one of the top destinations in the world for business and leisure travelers, and we look forward to continuing to work with each member of the Travel Advisory Board to host their clients and their colleagues in the future.”
“Travel + Leisure is grateful to Baha Mar and its global brand hotels, Grand Hyatt, SLS and Rosewood, for the spectacular experience provided to us last week,” said Jay Meyer, senior vice president/publisher, Travel + Leisure. “From dining at their wide range of outstanding restaurants to the warm Bahamian hospitality, the Travel Advisory Board enjoyed the unexpected collection of intimate experiences that Baha Mar has to offer.”
As one of the most sophisticated meeting and event destinations in the Caribbean, Baha Mar is home to over 220,000 square feet of luxury venue space, including the Baha Mar Performing Arts and Convention Center, which doubles as an art gallery, and indoor and outdoor spaces located throughout the resort’s three hotels, Grand Hyatt, SLS and Rosewood.
