Young Bahamians selected for ITF/COTECC training camp
A couple of young Bahamian tennis players are being recognized by the governing body for their sport worldwide.
Michael Major Jr. and Jalisa Clarke have been selected by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) to be a part of the ITF/Central American and Caribbean Tennis Confederation (COTECC) Under-12 (U12) Training Camp in Sub Region 3, in the Dominican Republic.
The camp will run from November 19 to 23 at the Centro Español, Inc., in Santiago de Los Caballeros, the Dominican Republic, and the two young Bahamians will be accompanied by Coach Marion Bain.
The invited players were selected based on their performances in the region in the past year, in ITF and COTECC organized events.
These events reinforce the ITF’s commitment to assisting the most talented junior players in the region. Through this ITF/COTECC training camp, players will come together under the guidance of expert coaches, allowing for growth and development.
“We wish these players the best as this is a grand opportunity afforded by the ITF,” said a Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA) spokesperson through a press statement.
The week-long camp is expected to present the young Bahamians with a new challenge as they seek further development in their tennis careers.
