Murder suspect to stand trial

Aformer wanted suspect accused of murder and attempted murder was yesterday committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court.

Rashad Reid, 26, of Pastel Gardens, appeared before Magistrate Jeanine Weech-Gomez to receive the Crown’s case against him in relation to the June 30 murder of Kiria Musgrove, whose body was found discarded in bushes off Cowpen Road on July 1.

Reid is also charged with the June 30 attempted murder of Austin Pinder.

According to police reports, Musgrove and Pinder were in a parked car in Pastel Gardens when a gunman shot both of them. Pinder reportedly ran for help and the assailant fled in the vehicle with a wounded Musgrove.

Reid is due to appear before Justice Bernard Turner on January 18 for an arraignment.
