Fergie, The Jacksons & Dua Lipa to rock New Year’s Eve weekend
From Grammy Award-winning artist Fergie, to British breakout pop star Dua Lipa and The Jacksons, it’s going to be a New Year’s weekend for the ages. All that remains is for you to pick your poison in the battle of the genres that you want to rock out to this New Year’s Eve weekend.
Fergie commands the Atlantis LIVE New Year’s Eve stage in the Imperial Ballroom at the Atlantis resort on Monday, December 31 at 9 p.m.
The pop star, who made headlines earlier this year for her curious and sultry rendition of the United States’ national anthem at the NBA All-Star Game, will follow in the footsteps of R&B artist John Legend, who crooned his way into the hearts of thousands of fans in 2016; Diana Ross, who showed off her vocals and a few of her dance moves the preceding year; and Sting and Kool & the Gang, who performed on separate nights last year.
Fergie, best known for her songs “Glamorous” and “London Bridge”, will undoubtedly bring her usual flair.
“Guests of Fergie’s New Year’s Eve performance at Atlantis can expect to hear her perform songs from her debut solo album ‘The Dutchess’, ranging from ‘Fergalicious’ to ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’, as well as hits from her latest studio album, ‘Double Dutchess,’” Atlantis said in a press release.
“No stranger to Atlantis, Paradise Island, Fergie most recently performed beachside for a star-studded, intimate crowd in November to relaunch The Cove Atlantis.”
Fergie is a multi-platinum solo artist and winner of eight Grammy awards, who initially rose to fame as the lead vocalist for hip-hop group The Black Eyed Peas. Following a successful run with the music group, Fergie ventured out into the solo world, ultimately becoming pop’s leading lady with hit after hit.
Tickets to the Fergie concert are $150 for bronze, $200 for silver, $250 for gold, $375 for platinum, $375 for VIP and $1,000 for VVIP. Doors open at 9 p.m.
The Jacksons (Jermaine, Tito, Jackie and Marlon), known originally as The Jackson 5, kick off the New Year’s Eve weekend at the Atlantis resort, as they perform all of their mega hits made famous with their late brother, Michael Jackson, on December 29 in the Imperial Ballroom at 9 p.m.
Tickets are $75 for bronze, $125 for silver, $175 for gold, $250 for platinum and $275 for VIP.
Dua Lipa will make an exclusive one-night only tour stop in the Caribbean to perform live at Baha Mar. The singer-songwriter will be serving up an epic performance of her number-one hits, including “New Rules” and “One Kiss” on the Jasmine Lawn on December 29, with doors opening at 8 p.m.
Hotel guests and locals will rock out to the popular sounds of one of today’s biggest breakout stars during the outdoor show, overlooking lush gardens, stunning fountains and lake shows.
The singer with the silky voice, who has one album under her belt – “Dua Lipa: Complete Edition” – has been on a collision course with stardom since her early YouTube days.
After a year of number-one hit singles, sold-out shows and record-breaking streaming figures, Lipa has become the biggest breakout artist in the world. She is the number-one most streamed female artist on Spotify and is the first and only female artist in history to have four lead songs with over 500 million Spotify streams. She has also spent eight weeks at number one in the United Kingdom with the million-plus selling hit “One Kiss” – the most weeks at number one for a female artist this century.
Already collecting major accolades in 2018, Lipa took home two BRIT Awards of her five nominations – the most nominations for a female performer in the history of the BRITS, performed for 85 million people at the UEFA Champion League Football final and has sold over 3 million albums and 32 million singles worldwide.
General admission tickets start at $150, premium tickets begin at $200 and VIP tickets at $300. Premium and VIP tickets include a separate entry area, viewing standpoints close to the stage and access to exclusive bar areas. Limited tickets will also be sold at the door, depending on availability. Doors open at 8 p.m.
