E. Sally-Ann Lockhart-Pratt appointed registrar general
The Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs is pleased to announce the appointment of E. Sally-Ann Lockhart-Pratt to the position of registrar general, in the Registrar General’s Department.
Lockhart-Pratt’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in banking and international finance as well as a Master of Arts in legal studies. She was called to both the Bar of England and Wales and The Bahamas Bar on July 24, 2008 and September 26, 2008 respectively.
Her work experiences include a stint in offshore banking with experience in back-office administration, as well as practicing as counsel and attorney-at-law with years of experience in civil litigation; real property, corporate and commercial transaction; probate; and family matters.
As registrar general, Lockhart-Pratt is expected to coordinate and manage the daily operations of all sections of the Registrar General’s Department by directing the workflow of and task assignments to staff in the various units, inclusive of:
• Administration, accounts and central registry;
• Non-profit companies and friendly societies;
• Intellectual property;
• Registration of births, deaths, marriages and maritime marriages;
• Deeds and documents;
• Companies, inclusive of electronic filings;
• Data Management;
• Scanning and management information systems.
Lockhart-Pratt is assuming the mantle of leadership in the department at an exciting time, as the government continues to marshal its efforts to enhance the quality and delivery of service, thereby improving the ease of doing business in The Bahamas.
