A 38-year-old security officer was yesterday remanded to prison after he was arraigned on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and wounding.
Prosecutors say Rico Darling, of Lumumba Lane, assaulted Octavia Vixamar with a handgun on January 23.
Just four days earlier, prosecutors allege that Darling wounded James Exantus.
Darling pleaded not guilty to both charges at his arraignment before Magistrate Samuel McKinney and returns to court on March 4 for trial.
Darling will have to seek bail in the Supreme Court because the magistrate does not have the jurisdiction to consider bail for the offenses.
