A man charged with the murder of Marco Archer’s older brother was yesterday committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court.
Prosecutors say that Franklyn Edgecombe, 50, of Mason’s Addition, is responsible for the December 11, 2018 shooting murder of Rico Archer at Fort Fincastle.
Edgecombe, otherwise known as “Chilly”, received the evidence that the prosecution will rely on at his trial when he was presented with a voluntary bill of indictment.
Magistrate Samuel McKinney advised Edgecombe that he would either have to provide the court an alibi immediately or within 21 days.
Edgecombe said he would do so within 21 days.
He will be arraigned in the Supreme Court on March 15.
Edgecombe did not have a lawyer at the hearing.
Archer’s younger brother, Marco, was murdered in 2011.
Police found the 11-year-old’s naked body dumped in bushes a week after he vanished while doing an errand for his mother.
