Baggage screener denies assaulting police officer

A 25-year-old baggage screener was granted $2,500 bail yesterday after she denied charges related to a scuffle between her and a policeman.

Elveneque Lloyd, 25, of Bel-Air Estates, was on duty at Lynden Pindling International Airport on March 3 when prosecutors say she assaulted Inspector Devon Robinson and obstructed him while in the execution of his duties.

Lloyd, who was represented by Devard Francis, denied the charges at her arraignment before Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux.

She returns to court in August for the start of her trial.
