$3 million in scholarships awarded at HBCU college fair

Over $3 million in scholarships was awarded to students to matriculate in fall 2019 to attend Fisk University, Virginia Union University, Harris Stowe State University and Philander Smith College during the recent Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.’s Historical Black Colleges and Universities Presidents’ Forum and College Fair.

Four college presidents – Dr. Kevin Rome, Fisk University, Nashville, Tennessee; Dr. Hakim Lucas, Virginia Union University, Richmond, Virginia; Dr. Dwaun Warmack, Harris Stowe State University, St. Louis Missouri; and Dr. Roderick Smothers, Philander Smith College, Little Rock, Arkansas, spoke to students and their parents about their respective institutions during the two-day HBCU President’s Forum and College Fair held at the British Colonial Hilton Hotel, which more than 500 students attended.
