Bahamian coaches benefit from ITF course
The Play Tennis Course (PTC), an introductory level tennis qualification course for coaches, was recently offered over at the Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association’s (BLTA) National Tennis Center through the BLTA by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
Participants of the course received technical and instructional knowledge, moving from the classroom setting to the courts.
BLTA President Darnette Weir said that it is their goal to improve coaching at all levels of tennis in The Bahamas.
“The association has embarked on this timely initiative to further the development of coaching. The impact is that young and adult beginners will benefit greatly from what the coaches have been taught,” she said.
The four-day course, which was in session this past weekend, was offered by ITF Development Officer for the Caribbean John Goede.
