Man charged with 2018 murder

A second suspect has been charged with non-capital murder in the fatal shooting of Karo Bullard last October.

Deshawn Hart, 18, was on Monday formally charged with the October 5, 2018 murder of Bullard and the attempted murder of Elricka Collie at his initial appearance before Acting Deputy Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain.

Bullard and Collie were at a home in Nassau Village when gunmen opened fire on them. Bullard died at the scene.

Hart did not have a lawyer at his court appearance and was not required to enter pleas to the charges.

Prosecutors plan to fast-track his case to the Supreme Court with the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment that will take place on May 8.

He has been remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.

Jeremy Thompson, 20, was charged with Hart’s murder and Collie’s attempted murder last year. He remains in custody at the prison.
