I can’t stand phonies

The word “phony” as it is used in the context of this particular article is I guess a slang word which actually means hypocrite. So, when you say that someone is a phony – you mean in effect that he or she is a hypocrite, and my friend as the title of today’s article so simply and succinctly puts it, I can’t stand phonies – no I can’t. “Why?” you may query. Well, my friend, because they are daily putting on an act, trying to fool everyone as to who they are and what they’re all about. But as that well-known saying puts it, “you can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.” No, you most definitely cannot.

So, when a person is really a hypocrite, a phony and thus doing their very best to present themselves as someone other than who they are, in reality they really are not in the long run, fooling anyone other than themselves. But, my friend, there is another very important reason why no one should have any inclination to be a hypocrite, a phony and it is this.

As I have relayed to you my valued readers on many, many occasions in these articles over the years, you are a very unique child of God, imbued at birth with an abundance of unique and special talents. So, you really are something special. So, if you understand this fact of life, both emotionally and intellectually, well then, you’ll be very happy with yourself and thus will have no need to be in any way phony.

Yes, my friend, let’s face it, you’re a magnificent creation of God, fully equipped with ability and talent to be an outstanding success – yes you are. So, there’s really no reason whatsoever for you to try to portray yourself as something which you are not, for you’ve actually got it all going for you, to use the vernacular. So just be the magnificent you the Creator made and you’ll succeed beyond your wildest dreams.
