Man charged in 137-pound marijuana bust
A 48-year-old man is facing two drug trafficking charges after police allegedly found 137 pounds of marijuana in the car he was driving.
Terrance Brown, of Hopkins Drive, was arrested on April 1 after police searched his vehicle near the Coral Harbour roundabout.
Brown appeared before Acting Deputy Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain on charges of conspiracy to possess dangerous drugs with intent to supply and possession of a dangerous drug with intent to supply.
Brown, who was represented by Jomo Campbell, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
His trial is set to begin on June 13.
Brown will remain in custody unless he is granted bail by the Supreme Court.
Swain lacks jurisdiction to grant bail for the offenses.
