Three permanent secretaries reassigned

Three permanent secretaries will have their portfolios reassigned, advised the Cabinet Office yesterday.

Marco Rolle, permanent secretary in the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs, will be moved to the Ministry of Health.

Rolle, who is a senior permanent secretary, will replace Rena Glinton, who begins pre-retirement leave next week.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Labour Cecilia Strachan will be transferred to the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs.

Peter Deveaux-Isaacs, permanent secretary/managing director in Public Parks and Public Beaches Authority, Ministry of Environment and Housing, will become the new permanent secretary in the Ministry of Labour.

The statement did not say when the changes would take effect.

“Prime Minister the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis acknowledges and thanks the permanent secretaries for their contributions in their former posts and looks forward to the work they will do in their new assignments,” the statement read.

When four Cabinet ministers of the Minnis administration were reassigned last July, several permanent and acting permanent secretaries were also reassigned.

Those changes took effect July 30.

Lorraine Symonette-Armbrister, former permanent secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Local Government, was transferred to the Ministry of Education.

Former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture Nicole Campbell was transferred to the Office of the Prime Minister.

Former Permanent Secretary of the Urban Renewal Commission Sherrylee Smith was moved to the Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development.

Jack Thompson, former permanent secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, was transferred to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture.

Elise Delancy, former permanent secretary in the Ministry of the Public Service and National Insurance, headed to the newly formed Public Service Modernization Unit.

Donella Bodie, former permanent secretary in the Ministry of Education, was transferred to the Ministry of the Public Service and National Insurance.

The Cabinet Office also announced that former Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development Cora Bain-Colebrooke was moved to the Ministry of Transport and Local Government.
