J.S. Johnson celebrates 100-year milestone
To mark the momentous occasion of its 100th anniversary, J.S. Johnson & Company, Limited, Insurance Agents & Brokers (JSJ) invited its customers across Nassau to celebrate with staff and management on Wednesday, April 3, 2019.
Festivities commenced at the JSJ Thompson Blvd. location, where Ricardo Clarke of Joy FM joined the staff to give away JSJ trivia prizes on air. Customers were invited to enjoy cake and light refreshments, and also receive JSJ gift bags. JSJ’s Soldier Road location was next to celebrate. A.C. of Y98.7 FM was on hand to announce more JSJ trivia winners and broadcast cake-cutting.
At JSJ’s headquarters on Collins Avenue, JSJ Managing Director Alister McKellar and Senior Manager of Customer Service Robert Bartlett gave brief remarks, followed by the final cake-cutting of the day. Special K of 100 Jamz, broadcasting live, invited customers in the area to stop by for trivia prizes and gift bags. During the event, JSJ unveiled a proclamation issued by the government of The Bahamas, declaring the month of April 2019 as “J.S. Johnson Month”.
The proclamation details the company’s start, on April 3, 1919, when William C.B. Johnson, nephew of J.S. Johnson & Co. founder, Joseph Samuel Johnson, signed the first agency agreement allowing a Bahamian operation to write insurance through Eagle Star Insurance Co., in London.
Today, J.S. Johnson is a leader in the field, with offices throughout The Bahamas and Turks & Caicos, providing a range of insurances including personal, commercial, marine, aviation and life & health.
